Jeffrey Uhlig & The Three Tenors: A Tel Hai Concert Series Event- Sept. 26, 2015

Tenors 2015.9.26Tel Hai Retirement Community invites the public to a Tel Hai Concert Series evening of music by Jeffrey Uhlig (pianist) and the Three Tenors- Dominick Chenes (tenor); Mackenzie Whitney (tenor); and Galeano Salas (tenor) on Saturday, September 26 at 7:30 PM in the StoneCroft Center for Worship & Performing Arts! Don’t miss this entertaining and dynamic musical event! Admission to the event is free and open to the public.

Jeffrey Uhlig has appeared as collaborative pianist in many concerts in America and also has performed in Russia. Some of his notable performances have been at The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC and at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York. He plays regularly with many members of The Philadelphia Orchestra including Concert Master David Kim, Principal Cellist, Hai-Ye Ni and Principal Trombonist, Nitzan Haroz.

Dominick Chenes, tenor, originally from Las Vegas, NV is a student of Mr. Bill Schuman at the Academy of Vocal Arts, in Philadelphia, PA. Dominick completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Music-Vocal Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2007, and his Master’s Degree in Music-Vocal Performance also from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2012. Dominick won second prize in the Gerda Lissner Foundation competition in March 2013, as well as a grant award from the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation competition in April 2013.

Mackenzie Whitney is a native of Janesville, Iowa. He received his Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Iowa. While studying there, he performed the roles of Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Tamino in The Magic Flute, and Alcino in Prima Donna. Mackenzie participated in the Emerging Artists program at Opera New Jersey and covered the role of the Magician in Menotti’s The Consul.

Galeano Salas is a Texas native who grew up in Mexico City. He holds a MM from Yale University and a BM from the University of Houston. He is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. Galeano most recently sang the roles of Alfredo in La traviata and German in Pique Dame. Recent performances include covering Stage Manager in Ned Rorem’s Our Town as a member of Central City Opera’s Bonfils-Stanton Apprentice Artist program. Also, Vaudémont in Iolanta and Tebaldo in I Capuleti e I Montecchi at the historic Shubert Theater with Yale Opera.

Tel Hai Retirement Community, an accredited nonprofit continuing care retirement community, has provided high quality and compassionate care since 1956.
