Exceptional Care in an Exceptional Environment

Following years of thoughtful planning and sound fiscal stewardship, Tel Hai Retirement Community announced plans in Fall 2025 to construct a new health care center, replacing the existing Meadows Health Care Center and redefining the future of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services on our campus.

Designed around resident dignity, comfort, independence, and well-being, the new center will feature:

• • A modern, thoughtfully designed environment that reflects the exceptional quality of care provided by our dedicated team
  • Three skilled nursing households, each offering 16 spacious private suites with ensuite bathrooms, promoting privacy, comfort, and accessibility
  • A dedicated rehabilitation household featuring 12 private suites, specialized therapy spaces, and a rehabilitation gym focused on recovery and restoration
  • Welcoming household-focused living areas, including shared kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms, and activity spaces that encourage meaningful connections among residents, families, and friends
  • Bright, naturally lit resident rooms with beautiful campus views and convenient access to outdoor patios and courtyards

Elevating the Resident, Family & Team Member Experience

As we build our new health care center, we are also investing in a transformative approach to care that enhances the experience of residents, families, and team members alike.

In the months ahead, Tel Hai will introduce culture-shaping initiatives, including person-directed care education through The Eden Alternative, expanded professional development opportunities, and the implementation of Care Partners to strengthen our collaborative, resident-centered model of care.

This enhanced approach recognizes each resident as an individual—honoring personal preferences, promoting autonomy, and fostering meaningful relationships that enrich daily life.

Investing in the Future

Anticipated for completion in October 2028, the new health care center represents Tel Hai’s long-term commitment to delivering compassionate, innovative care while strengthening the continuum of services available to current residents and future generations.

More than a new building, this investment reflects our vision for the future—a place where exceptional care, meaningful relationships, and purposeful living come together in an environment designed to support the evolving needs of older adults.

In 2025, Meadows Health Care at Tel Hai received a ‘Deficiency-Free State Survey’ by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and is a 5-Star Rated Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services provider. 

In 2026, Tel Hai Retirement Community achieved special recognition as an Age-Friendly Health Systems — Committed to Care Excellence by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. This distinction requires working toward reliable practice of a set of four evidence-based elements of high-quality care for all older adults, known as the 4Ms: What Matters, Medication, Mind, and Mobility.
