Festival of Music: Saturday, September 29

Community life at Tel Hai is a perfect mix of engaging experiences and meaningful connections! We’ve added a one-of-a-kind event to add to our dynamic lineup for the fall… an all-day, campus-wide Festival of Music! You won’t want to miss it!

See the ‘Schedule of Acts, Times & Locations’ below to learn more about this special day!  All performances are FREE & OPEN TO THE GREATER COMMUNITY, with the exception of the Wheatland Chorale concert.

Concluding this special day will be a complimentary reception and evening concert by the Wheatland Chorale in the StoneCroft Center for Worship & Performing Arts. The reception will begin at 6:00 PM and the concert will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.  This reception & evening concert will be a ticketed event, and tickets are required for entry.

Individuals enrolled in the ‘Ready in a Year Program’ and ‘Future Resident List’ will have an exclusive opportunity to snag tickets before they are open to the greater community!

‘Late Entry’ Quartet: 12:00 – 2:00 PM, Roaming Throughout Campus

Late Entry is a dynamic, a cappella quartet based in metropolitan Philadelphia, with Gary Covert as lead, Rich Matusewicz as bass, Jeff Porter as baritone, and Tom Telford as tenor.  With roots in the barbershop tradition, Late Entry has an ever growing repertoire spanning several decades from barbershop “chestnuts”, through swing, show tunes, rock-and-roll, doo-wop, folk music and gospel! *FREE & OPEN TO THE GREATER COMMUNITY!

Trinidad North Steel Drum Band: 1:00 – 2:00 PM, The Hillside Amenities of Tel Hai- Outdoor Amphitheater

Take a magical journey back to the islands and prepare yourself for a unique presentation with music and story that is captivating and rejuvenating.  Led by David Gettes, a Master steel drum maker, tuner and musician, this uplifting performance will bring the Caribbean to life with soothing sounds of steel drums.  Remember to bring your lawn chair and sunglasses! *FREE & OPEN TO THE GREATER COMMUNITY!

Harp Duo: 1:00 – 2:00 PM,  Lakeview Personal Care Activity Room

Emily (Marini) Aziza of Lancaster, Pa., has made her upbringing in harp music into her professional career for the past 10 years.  As the youngest daughter of the Marini family of New Holland, Pennsylvania, she was raised in musical performance since the age of five, and in later years, branched into other musical avenues with local theater companies and solo performances.  Emiliy will be joined by her brother Mark. He too has grown up playing the harp and performs at weddings, banquets, special events and occasionally with the worship team at his church.  Mark currently lives and works at home constructing harps as his full-time occupation for the family business. *FREE & OPEN TO THE GREATER COMMUNITY!


Hymn Sing with Chaplain David Hicks: 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Auditorium/Chapel

Chaplain Hicks will lead a traditional old-fashioned hymn sing where guests are given a hymnal and then able to call out the names or numbers of their favorite hymn to be sung. Chaplain Hicks will then lead the singing and add anecdotal information about certain hymns. *FREE & OPEN TO THE GREATER COMMUNITY!


Galena Brass Band: 3:00 – 4:00 PM, The Hillside Amenities of Tel Hai- Outdoor Amphitheater

Founded in 1995 in Bucks County PA, the Galena Brass Band epitomizes versatility.  From classical to Dixieland and rock to polka, a Galena Brass performance is nothing but engaging and energetic!  They recently performed at Longwood Gardens, Christmas at the Stadium in Reading, Peddler’s Village, Phoenixville’s Dogwood Parade and Malvern ‘s Memorial Parade.  Remember to bring your lawn chair and sunglasses! *FREE & OPEN TO THE GREATER COMMUNITY!

Wheatland Chorale: 6:00 PM Reception, 7:00 PM Concert, StoneCroft Center for Worship & Performing Arts (ticketed event)

The Wheatland Chorale is widely regarded as one of the premiere choral ensembles in Pennsylvania and has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts for artistic excellence. The ensemble now numbers over 50 singers and has performed at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, the National Cathedral and the White House in Washington, D.C., and on tours in Austria, Germany, Italy, and England. The choir’s repertoire is very broad, and it features selections from all periods.
