Come out and enjoy our Fourth Friday Open House held from 1-3 in our Welcome Center!

Tour the StoneCroft Pearl model apartment, selected cottages and meet Tel Hai residents—your future neighbors!

Our “Fourth Friday” program each month will feature Tel Hai residents or future residents sharing a hobby or special interest in the Welcome Center. On February 28 you will enjoy “Indoor Fun: Scrapbooking and Card Making” presented by Tel Hai resident, Karen Runyon. You can also enjoy a display of fine pen & ink drawings by Martin May of Romansville in the Welcome Center “gallery.”

The atypical winter of 2014 has been noteworthy for many reasons, but residents of Tel Hai are still smiling. We have some adventurous folks who are enjoying the snow with neighbors and family members. Robin LaDrew of Cedar Ridge shared her enjoyment sledding on campus. “I met with my neighbor, Chris, and we’ve gone down the hill behind her house a couple of times. I’ve gone with my grandson too. Behind my house you can go very fast and sail across a frozen patch and up the next rise! This is one childhood pleasure we are still enjoying at Tel Hai!”

When the power outage hit Tel Hai—the second largest in PECO’s history—residents were feeling safe, comfortable and well cared for on campus. Maple Knoll resident, Joanne Belson shared, “Yes, the weather outside was frightful…but I am so happy to be living at Tel Hai. Our wonderful staff cared for our needs and ensured our safety throughout the outage. Roads, driveways, sidewalks and porches on campus were cleared and salted. Staff offered transportation to the Garrett Community Center for hot meals. We could spend the night there as well, if we desired. Staff members from all levels of care were available around the clock. Moving to Tel Hai has been a true blessing. I couldn’t be happier that I made the decision to move here.”

Moving to Tel Hai is a BIG decision. My husband of 45 years passed eight years ago and that felt like the end of my world. All my family is gone; neither my husband nor I had siblings and we had no children. Thank heavens for my friends!

I’ve always lived in this area—went to school here, worked here. The only time I lived away was over the winter…for many years we would spend six months at our home in Florida.

There are many people here I already know. When I was young Tel Hai was “the old folks home.” Well, guess what? I am now one of the “old folks.”

I’ve been volunteering here already so by the time I move in to my StoneCroft apartment home I should know my way around—and be familiar with the many options and activities available. The staff here is great—so helpful. They make you feel very welcome and wanted. The people at Tel Hai will be my family now.

I won’t have to worry about property problems or repairs anymore. Since I’ve had experience with many retirement communities in the area I am happy to say Tel Hai is my choice. I can hardly wait!
