Slice of History Program Seeking Volunteers

Volunteer Writers meet with a resident and within one month's time capture a "slice of history" that will be added to the community's volume of stories. Additional adult volunteer writers are currently being sought by Tel Hai's Volunteer Services Director, Daphne Dampman Hurst.

Tel Hai's Volunteer Services Department initiated a memoir project in the fall of 2008 entitled "A Slice of History" which captures a "slice of life" as retold by a resident of the retirement community to a volunteer writer. Over the past two years a corps of community volunteers has gathered on Wednesday afternoons to meet the subjects of their most recent writing assignment and begin the process. At this time, Daphne Dampman Hurst, Tel Hai's Volunteer Services Director, is seeking additional adult writers as program volunteers. read more
