On Thursday, September 27, 2012 Loretta Gable Englerth will begin a six-week session of instruction in the fine art of watercolor painting at the Tel Hai retirement community off Beaver Dam Road, east of Route 10. Classes will meet on Thursdays from 9:00 until 11:00AM in the 4th floor Art Room located in the Hillcrest apartment building on campus from September 27 through November 1, 2012. The fee for the six-week class is $60 per person. Additional six-week sessions will subsequently be offered at the same rate starting November 8, 2012; January 17, 2013, February 28, 2013 and April 11, 2013.
Artists—and aspiring artists—of all skill levels are welcomed. Mrs. Englerth will lead the class with a focus on the individual artist’s point of view. Learn how to develop aesthetic insights that will help you define your own “style.” Issues of composition, contrast, color, and paint application will be emphasized. Beginning students should bring their own supplies to class including a spiral drawing tablet, (B) & (H) drawing pencils and erasers. Returning or experienced students may also include watercolor paints, brushes, paper and a water container.
Students are asked to bring pictures to use as inspiration for their own drawings and paintings. If a student lacks painting supplies, the necessary art materials can be ordered at a reasonable rate from the instructor.
Mrs. Englerth invites persons to “come and have fun…you do not need to have experience—all you need is the willingness to learn and try.” Anyone wishing to learn more or register for the class is encouraged to contact Loretta Englerth at her studio at 610-383-1330 or Judy Schweitzer, Tel Hai Wellness Supervisor by calling 610-273-9333, ext. 2154. Loretta added, “The cost of the class has not gone up—even though gas and everything else has—so this is a bargain!” Class size is limited; register early to avoid disappointment. You might discover a new talent, some new friends and will surely have a good time along the way.
